![]() ![]() I doubt that the integrated GPU had anything to do with it, because it indicated that a file was missing that you only need if you get the game via Windows Live (although Fallout 3 has an update for that very reason). not sure how the f+++ i can play this game ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling, just bought it yesterday. I have the GOTY purchased but i literally cant make it passed the launcher screen, i press play and it instantly crashes with no warning or message. ![]() Look at the Dev Notes from October for the most recent patch: I'd uninstall and reinstall without anything extra done on your part, and then try running the game. You may have shot yourself in the foot there (pun intended for "Doc Holliday" :2017meatball: ) - new update/patch a few months ago removed Games for Windows Live requirements, and the new F3 version here in Steam is intended to be installed and run as vanilla, no mods/file edits nor additional installations. I also did the verification check to see if the files are corrupted. I've installed GFWL but the game still wont work. when i click on play it wont launch the game. i clicked to play in steam and it loads up the first part where it says play, options,Data File,Tech support and exit. Originally posted by DocHoll1day71:Hi all. The new patched version of the game doesn't require all that crap any more.Īs for flavor-of-the-day Mods, that's a totally separate issue, and a player preference, but again - if the Mod wasn't updated for the new October Patch, it likely won't work. Some players are reporting that they had to uninstall and reinstall several times before the game finally worked out, but some of these isolated stories are more likely because players were manually editing Registry files or INI files in separately created folders. Unfortunately, very few actually read the Dev's patch notes, which clearly say that if one had the game installed prior to the October patch, that you must Uninstall the game and Reinstall it, to get it working properly in Vanilla form. I'm not saying they won't work, but they're not a requirement. ![]() The Script Extender and Anniversary Patch aren't requirements to run the game in Windows 10, at this point. Are you playing with the prior version of the game, or the new post-patch game of the current Steam version? As for your statement that you are playing with mods - in isolation, that is a meaningless statement at this point, without context (something that smart people like you who are apparently more informed than the rest of us - should know). Flavor mods that haven't been updated since the last patch may not work either. Mods that were intended to solve the Windows verification issue are now obsolete. I have about 25 of them running right now.Īnyways guys, install Script Extender and then the Anniversary Patcher and your game will run, if it wont you are out of luck. If you're fine with third-party software, though, this GUI application for cron (the precursor to launchd) scheduling seems promising (but I haven't tried it so can't be certain).Originally posted by Myll:and the new F3 version here in Steam is intended to be installed and run as vanilla, no mods/file edits nor additional installations.ĭont talk about stuff you dont know anything about. You said "low overhead", which I took to mean using only methods native to OS X. For more information, check the entry on creating Launch Daemons in the apple developer's library. A quick presentation of this approach can be found here. If you want to set this to automatically run every, say, 6 hours I think your best bet is to create a Launch Daemon using launchd. Tell application "BetterSnapTool" to activate Here is a quick and simple AppleScript I whipped up that works for restarting BetterSnapTools: tell application "BetterSnapTool"ĭelay 2 - Wait for BetterSnapTool to close Since I haven't experienced the issue described and have no second-hand explanations, I can't answer the question of why this is happening.) (This answers the second question about how to automate restarting BetterSnapTool. ![]()
